Hello Will, how are you man ? I’m getting married this week. Do you have any tips to set the standards in the beginning of the marriage ? What are the musts ? Thanks man!
Thank you in advance, Will! I have a daughter and a son.
Can women earn money from home when they have children, or do you think it takes them away from household responsibilities ? What kind of careers would you recommend to young women today’s climate , in case they did need to work? I used to think nursing was a good career but apparently nurses are being overworked and abused by patients now. Female teachers also.
Do you think joining the military is a good choice for young men, or best to be avoided since the govnt basically owns their lives?
A woman doing remote work for a boss is still going to need childcare, so her kids won't be raised by her.
Worrying about "a career" for your daughter is attaching to much importance to it. Until she's married, she can just have a job to support herself. But she might benefit from living with you until she is married.
Whether a man should join the military depends on the man. But in general any man who thinks it's going to some kind of masculine initiation -- and that's most men who want to join the military -- will be sorely disappointed.
Another question that I’ve been wrestling with Will, and I’ve just purchased his books to see the entirety of the argument, is how much of what E Michael Jones is talking about is correct? Is he worth reading?
Specifically, are Libido Dominandi and Barren Metal worth reading? If so, why? I accept the premise of LD as far as I understand it, as I’ve seen the evidence myself amongst my peers and I , but if what is taught about sexuality (ie that degeneracy is acceptable/desirable) is false; what else being taught as acceptable/desirable is complete hogwash? If your education has been propaganda, how is one to tell what is true?! I apologize for that being long.
Additionally, I took a look at your reading list ( to which I refer often) and have begun reading Conjuring. Seems to me that, rather than casting blame on individuals of a certain persuasion we must recognize that if anyone gives in to sin they become a tool of the enemy and therefore our best defence is to wage war on our own sinfulness and deprive the enemy of yet another tool, through the saving Grace of Our Lord and Saviour. Is that near the mark? Thanks for your time and thoughtfulness, Will.
Hi Will. I’m new to the church as of the start of this year (2023) and typically attend Sunday mass at a Novus Ordo parish. I recently attended a Latin Mass, which from what I’ve learned only happens in my city about once a year. I found the Latin Mass much more reverent, and in the future I want to move somewhere where I could a Latin Mass nearby on a regular basis. While talking with a man after mass, I found out that it was an FSSP mass. I recently saw your YouTube video with an E Michael Jones clip in which you referred to the SSPX as liberalism in the title, presumably because of the schismatic nature of the group. From what I understand however, the FSSP is still in communion with Rome. My question is, is it okay to attend the TLM (provided they are FSSP masses) as an alternative to both the less reverent Novus Ordo masses and the SSPX masses?
Hi Will. What would your advice be in joining the Catholic church with no prior experience? I have begun working my way through the council of Trent and will read the Baltimore after it. Is there anything formal a priest would require of my wife and I upon joining a new Catholic church?
The backstory to this is:
I found out fairly recently (with embarrassment) that I am unbaptised. I always thought I had been but it turned out my Dad just told our local Anglican vicar that I was in order to get me and my brother into Sunday school and secure our place at the local RC school. My realisation came about with the Anglican vicar who married us who then christened our daughter. It is a source of great embarrassment for me and I would very much like to be baptised, and it would have made sense for the same vicar to do it. But since I have truly found my faith over the past 3 years, it is the Catholic church that calls to me. But I do not know what exactly is involved in such a process. Any advice would be very much appreciated!
How would you respond if someone told you the Catholic Church is a cult? I have Christian friends , these specific ones are Babtists but I also know Jehova witnesses and they all call the other denominations cults . It’s very strange. There isn’t a Catholic Church in my area so I’ve been attending a Fundamental Baptist church
Ask them what constitutes a cult and why their own denominations aren't cults.
Even the Congregationalist biblical scholar, Dr. C. H. Dodd, in his Bampton Lectures "Gospel and Law" at Columbia University, New York, 1950, pp. 35, 36, said that according to the New Testament the Church as established by Christ MUST claim a rightly-understood absolute religious authority, but that this cannot be called totalitarian in the political sense -- or in the sense people think of when talking about cults -- because the Church is not a self-determining power but one "entirely subordinate to ends beyond itself, the ends of Christ."
If I can add some more context, I don’t really know where I would want to live, so I have been considering renting for a time instead of looking to buy right away to allow me the space to build a life of my own, grow spiritually, etc.
Two questions: is it best to finish my RCIA before beginning a courtship of a Catholic? Met her through Church and am just wondering if there is a proper protocol.
What duty does a man have to do community work outside of his profession? In my previous job I had a lot of free time and volunteered significantly. I am now working 50+ hours a week plus RCIA weekly and feel that I am letting the volunteer side down since I have a lot less time for them.
Thank very much and thanks for all you do. Your content is a port in a storm.
My wife and I currently have three children under 4. The Catholic schools in our area are really Catholic in name only. My wife wants to homeschool and I think she will be great; however I am concerned mainly with educating them in their faith. I am worried I will have three Dawkins-reading atheists in 10 years and I can't afford to send them all to board at Ampleforth. How can we keep them on the right path? Thank you.
They are still very young. Take them to Mass weekly, and make sure they see you praying at home as well. Read to them from a Catholic children's Bible.
Use the Penny Catechism at first and then the Baltimore Catechism plus Paul Glenn's Apologetics when they are teens.
Hey what’s up Will. My wife was led to quit her job due to revelation. She was paying 35-40% of our expenses. I’m a personal trainer. At the time I can’t cover all expenses so have had to dip into savings. My question is what can I do to possibly double my income to cover everything? We don’t have car notes or much to cut back on. Would love some advice. Thanks!
Working wives only take home ~20% of their pay on average after taxes, travel, childcare etc.
It's highly unlikely you need to double your income.
Divide all your expenses into necessities, conveniences and luxuries.
Cut out all the luxuries then as many of the conveniences as you need to so that you can live within your means.
That might mean downgrading your house/car.
If even after that you genuinely can't afford the necessities, either network with personal trainers who earn what you need to and learn from them, get extra streams or income or get a new career that pays more.

Have you done a Catholic marriage preparation course?
Thank you in advance, Will! I have a daughter and a son.

Based on your matchmaking work , which gender has more unrealistic expectations and why?
They're about the same, and pride is the reason.
Can polygamy be effectively practiced in society today?
It's never worked well whenever it's been tried.
As Unwin showed, all the most successful societies have been monogamous.

About what, specifically?

A lot of what you've been taught is wrong, and EMJ's books are worth reading.

Read my article 'Beyond the Victim Narrative'.
Great, thanks Will

Correct. SSPX is schismatic. FSSP isn't.

This is straightforward: you need to ask your local Catholic priest about the RCIA, baptism and confirmation.
That's what I needed to hear! Thank you Will. I will do just that.

Hi Will, I would really value your input on this:
What advice would you give to an unmarried 25yr old Christian man, on a £27,000 salary, living in his parents’ home rent-free, with £20,000 savings?
The average first-time buyer deposit in the UK is £61,000. If you're aiming at getting married, I'd get that saved while you're finding a wife.
I don't think you should live with your parents after you're married, but there's no reason to move out until you're married.
If I can add some more context, I don’t really know where I would want to live, so I have been considering renting for a time instead of looking to buy right away to allow me the space to build a life of my own, grow spiritually, etc.

If you met her through Church, just tell her you're currently doing the RCIA.
And you only have so much time in the day, so just do what you can.
Glad you find my content helpful.
