You forgot tithing

The Church doesn't teach that anyone has to tithe. It's just something from the Old Testament that some trads like.

Do you see value in tithing?

There's value in giving money to help the poor materially. That's why the Church says we should. But we're not told to tithe.

This is explicitly not correct. Tithing to the Church directly is one of the five precepts of the Catholic Church.

The catechism paragraph 2043 reads: “The fifth precept (‘You shall help provide for the needs of the Church’) means that the faithful are obliged to assist with the material needs of the Church, each according to his own ability. The faithful also have the duty of providing for the material needs of the Church, each according to his abilities.”

That doesn't mean you have to tithe, obviously. What exactly do you think tithing is?

If you’re saying that tithing can only mean “one-tenth”, then that’s kind of a silly word game to play when the current colloquial definition is direct giving to the Church.

The Church does teach that the faithful are obliged to give directly to the church - they have the “duty of providing for the material needs of the church”. This is a separate clause from obligation to “assist” with the material needs.
